What's so special about whitefish & sweet potatoes? All of our Wellness Super5Mix recipes start with a variety of quality proteins and wholesome grains. Usually, we add a host of complementary ingredients like fruits, veggies and botanicals into the mix. However, some dogs need a simpler combination of whole foods and that's why we created our special Whitefish & Sweet Potato recipe. Instead of several different proteins, we use fish as the primary protein source. This omega-rich ingredient is complemented by an easily digestible carbohydrate blend that includes sweet potatoes. As a Super5Mix Complete Health recipe, it's also a great, everyday choice for our furry friends who simply love the taste of fish. Thoughtfully made with a simple combination of whole foods: Whitefish; Ground pearled barley; Sweet potatoes; Ground flaxseed. Calorie Content: This food contains 3,510 kcal per kilogram or 400 kcal per cup ME (metabolized energy) on an as fed basis (calculated). 100% complete and balanced nutrition for your dog. Wellness Super5Mix Complete Health Whitefish & Sweet Potato Recipe Dog Food is formulated to meet the nutritional levels established by the Association of American Feed Control Officials (AAFCO) Dog Food Nutrient Profiles for all life stages. Transitioning to Wellness: It is important to slowly transition your dog from his/her current diet as it takes a few days for the body to adapt to the new nutrient levels. To transition, gradually mix in the new food over a 5-7 day period, increasing the amount of Wellness each day, so that you are feeding 100% Wellness by day 7. Determining Feeding Portions: Looking at the chart below, divide the total cups per day by the total number of times you feed your dog per day to determine the portion size for each meal. Keep a clean bowl of fresh water available at all times. Wellness believes in feeding dry and wet food in combination whenever possible to help increase the level of water in your dog's diet. Nutrition is only one part of the equation! Be sure to give your dog plenty of love, plenty of exercise and see your veterinarian regularly to help ensure total wellbeing. Recommended Feeding Portions (Based on a Standard 8 oz Dry Measuring Cup): Every dog is a little different, so optimal feeding amounts may vary with age, size, activity level, breed and environment. Please use the information below as an initial recommendation only and adjust as needed. 3-17 lbs: 1/4 to 1 cups per day. 18-23 lbs: 1 to 1-1/4 cups per day. 24-45 lbs: 1-1/4 to 2 cups per day. 46-65 lbs: 2 to 2-1/2 cups per day. 66-85 lbs: 2-1/2 to 3 cups per day. 86-105 lbs: 3 to 3-1/2 cups per day. 106-125 lbs: 3-1/2 to 4 cups per day. For Dogs Over 125 lbs: Add 1/4 cup per additional 10 lbs. For Puppies and Pregnant or Nursing Dogs: Feed 25% more than amounts listed. Combination Feeding: If feeding with wet food, reduce dry amount by 1/3 cup for every 6 oz of wet food.
